4% property acquisition tax is cancelled

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

Today the parliament after a long discussion has cancelled the 4% property acquisition tax.

Surprisingly they have declined the original proposal of the government to remove tax reimbursement on the paid mortgage interests. Hence people will still be able to request the tax reimbursement yearly.

The parliament has approved the government's proposal to increase the sale of the property without a tax from 5 to 10 years. It means that everyone who would like to sell their real estate where they do not have the permanent residency will have to pay 15% tax from the difference in purchasing and selling prices if they sell within 10 years from the purchase.
